Climate and disaster risks can cripple the economies of small island states and compound their level of debt. Compared to the poorest countries, middle income countries?particularly in the Caribbean?have limited access to funds for climate and disaster resilience. This event will explore how to achieve enhanced resilience to climate and disaster risk, and reduce the fragmentation of the financial landscape in small island states. The event is part of the World Bank’s Small Island States Resilience Initiative, which seeks to reduce climate and disaster risks in vulnerable populations, assets, and ecosystems.
Venue: Room B104, Kawauchi-Kita Campus, Tohoku University
